Ceramics

Each ceramic piece I create is either wheel-thrown or hand-built in a beautiful studio in Chicago. I love working with white stoneware and I'm interested in designing vases with integrated flower frogs to eliminate the need for toxic floral foam or wasteful chicken wire when creating arrangements.

Flower Frogs

Flower frogs simplify floral arranging by holding stems in place and allowing for effortless creativity when making bouquets. Long ago the go-to tool for florists, flower frogs have unfortunately been replaced by environmentally harmful floral foam. Composed of non-biodegradable and non-recyclable plastic, floral foam contributes to pollution and landfill waste. As it breaks down over time, it releases micro-plastics into the environment. Additionally, the manufacturing process of floral foam involves harmful chemicals, contributing to environmental degradation. I've designed a collection of vases with built-in flower frogs that are purposely heavy so large stems don’t topple the vessel over. I also make standalone flower frogs that can be inserted into a vase or bowl.
